A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the terms and supplies its own results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our servers.

If you email us, the message may be retained so a response can be prepared. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. The site publishes general directions to Charlevoix County courts, the Sheriff and Jail, Michigan State Police ICHAT, MDOC OTIS, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report, and we are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure rules apply to information entered in those tools. We do not control those practices. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Charlevoix County offices, Michigan agencies, courts, registries, and outside services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy governs the visit. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites for targeted advertising. That processing does not occur under our direct control.

Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, it may be requested for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the information and the entity holding it. Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., governs access to nonexempt public records held by Michigan public bodies. MCL 28.243 separately controls collection and dissemination of state criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to an applicable privacy law, a person may:
- Request access to personal data kept about that person
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion when the law permits it
- Opt out of certain processing where an applicable law provides that right
